John Mantratzis - Film Composer
John (Iannis) Mantratzis was born in Veria, Greece, in 2001. From an early age, he showed his interest in film music. From 2020 to 2022, he attended the two-year film scoring curriculum at Philippos Nakas Conservatory, under Iannis Anninos, Berklee graduate (BA in Film Scoring) and former teacher at A.U.Th's School of Film. He holds a Bachelor of Music (BMus) with distinction (CGPA: 9.12/10 - GPA: 3.65/4.00), from UoM's Department of Music Science and Art. Also, he has earned diplomas in Tonal Harmony and Counterpoint (Philippos Nakas Conservatory), in classical guitar (Macedonian Conservatory of Thessaloniki) and piano (Municipal Conservatory of Veria). In June 2025, he got accepted in Film Scoring Academy of Europe's online programme, the Online Graduate Diploma in Film and Game Scoring. So far, he has participated in the following competitions: Berlin International Film Scoring Competition, Zurich International Film Music Competition, Score-Relief Film Music Competition (semi-finalist), Ryan Leach Composing Competition (finalist) and Score-Live Film Scoring Competition.
